Speaking in Washington, U.S. President Donald Trump accused Iranian leaders of conducting private negotiations with the United States while publicly denying any talks. He said Iranian negotiators fear domestic repercussions if the discussions are revealed and claimed they are eager to finalize a deal. Trump also asserted that "no one in Iran wants to hold the position of Supreme Leader at the present time" and said the United States had "destroyed everything in Iran," including military and naval capabilities.

Trump framed these remarks as evidence of U.S. military success, stating "I have ended eight wars, and we are now winning the war against Iran." White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt added that the administration is prepared to escalate military action if Iran does not "acknowledge its military defeat," as reported by SANA
