Syria, Italy Pledge Religious and Humanitarian Cooperation to Boost Cohesion

Syrian Minister of Endowments Mohammed Abu al-Khair Shukri met with Italian Ambassador Stefano Ravagnan to discuss strengthening bilateral ties, with emphasis on religious and humanitarian cooperation. The talks highlighted promotion of coexistence, social peace, and recognition of Syria’s cultural diversity, while seeking to foster a balanced, inclusive religious discourse and values of moderation.

Shukri noted the impact of the "Unity of Islamic Discourse" conference in Damascus and the ministry’s role in promoting social cohesion and constructive engagement. Ravagnan praised Syrian institutions for reinforcing national stability and reaffirmed Italy’s commitment to deepen cooperation and support initiatives across multiple fields.
