No fatalities in Jaramana minivan bombing; 14 wounded, state says

Syria's Health Ministry said Friday that 14 people were wounded, three critically, and no one was killed after an explosion in a minivan taxi in the Jaramana suburb of Damascus. State media had initially reported two deaths, but officials corrected that after discovering severed limbs recovered from the wreckage belonged to living patients who were later undergoing surgery. Authorities say the blast was caused by an explosive device planted in the vehicle.

A little-known group calling itself Minbar Ansar al-Rasoul claimed responsibility for the attack, but Syrian authorities have not announced any arrests or released findings from their investigation. Jaramana — home to a large Druze population — has experienced sectarian tensions and deadly clashes in the past, and the blast is the latest in a string of recent explosions that have complicated interim President Ahmad al-Sharaa's efforts to consolidate control and court minority and international support. as reported by AP News
