Aleppo artists bridge divides with workshops, concerts and films
Overview
An artists' collective in Aleppo has opened a shared creative space that brings Syrians from different religious and political backgrounds together. Al Jazeera’s Zein Basravi visited the initiative and found that workshops, concerts and film screenings are being used to rebuild trust and social ties in a city scarred by years of conflict.
Activities and impact
The collective offers a neutral, cultural setting where people can meet, create and discuss — using arts events to foster dialogue, mutual understanding and psychological recovery. While operating in a fragile post-war environment, the project demonstrates how grassroots cultural work can contribute to reconciliation and community rebuilding, even amid ongoing challenges, as reported by Al Jazeera
